Three-look fashion editorial in Ho Chi Minh City with UK fashion photographer Raj (Rajart and Co), Fashion Videographer of the Year 2024.
Some shoot days are about one look. This one was three. Raj — the UK-based fashion photographer behind Rajart & Co — came to Ho Chi Minh City for an editorial that spanned three distinct visual chapters, all in one shoot day.
A three-look fashion editorial set against the textures of Ho Chi Minh City. The brief: showcase Raj’s fashion photography on a different international backdrop, and demonstrate range — both his and mine. So we built three completely different looks into the same day. A classic editorial chapter. An artistic, more stylised one. And a third that leaned darker, sensual, slightly mysterious.
The frames from this collaboration were later picked up by several fashion photography magazines.
Raj is a UK-based fashion photographer and videographer working between Hertfordshire and London, and named Fashion Videographer of the Year 2024. His practice moves comfortably between commercial fashion campaigns and editorial storytelling, and he travels internationally for shoots — which is how we ended up working together in Vietnam.
His full portfolio and video work lives at rajart.co.uk and on Instagram at @rajartco.
Range. The brief required three completely different energies in one shoot day — which means three different mindsets, three different ways of holding the body, three different conversations with the camera. Aerial training quietly helps with this. You learn how to switch states fast, hold each one cleanly, and not let the previous look bleed into the next.
The HCMC location added another layer. The city’s textures, light, and crowd-density became part of the cast. Raj used all of it, and the resulting images carry that intensity into every frame.
